If you subscribe to my blog (ie request notification of future blog posts) via one of the pages of this website, your email address will be stored in my website database and used to send you emails about my newsletter (as you would expect). In addition to the information you knowingly provide, I may collect the IP address of subscribers. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the subscribe/unsubscribe feature on this website or by notifying me of your choice. If you unsubscribe, your email address and any other information will be removed from the website database.

If you send me an email, your name, email address and message will be emailed to me (as you would expect). This information is kept private and may be stored within my own (cloud-based) email system so that I am able to read your email and, if applicable, respond to you.

In addition to the aforementioned information collected via this website and/or from emails that you send me, I may collect, and retain in my contact database (also cloud-based), contact details for the purposes of future communication on legitimate grounds unless the person to whom that personal information relates makes a request in accordance with Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation for me to remove their contact details.


The website was built using WordPress software and various associated plug-ins.  This entails using some cookies when you browse the site. A cookie is a tiny text file stored on your computer. Cookies store information that is used to help make sites work. Only I can access the cookies created by my website. You can control your cookies at the browser level. Choosing to disable cookies may hinder your use of certain functions.

Google AnalyticsPersistent2 YearsTo understand how people use this site, and to discover areas on the site with issues, I use Google Analytics (and Microsoft Clarity - see below). Most websites use some sort of analytics program like this. The data it collects helps me see things like how many people visit this site, which country they are from, how many pages they visited, how fast the site loaded, and so on. Microsoft ClarityPersistent1 yearTo understand how people use this site, I use Microsoft Clarity (and also Google Analytics - see above). Most websites use some sort of analytics programs like these. The data Clarity collects helps me see things like which pages users visited, in which order, what they downloaded so on. You can view Microsoft's Privacy Statement here.
Privacy AlertPersistent1 YearIn the footer of each web page on this site you will see a message alerting you to my privacy and cookie policy. If you've seen this message once, you probably won't want to see it again, so you are given the oportunity to suppress the notice. The website uses a cookie to remember this setting. You can delete that cookie using the link beneath this table. User data is all anonymous.
